USD 50,000 is a planning ceiling, not a promise that a business can be launched for a fixed amount. Small capital makes working-capital mistakes more dangerous, so the preferred models are those that can test demand before committing to heavy rent, inventory or equipment.
Ten models that can be tested in stages
- Cross-border e-commerce: start with a narrow SKU set and measure contribution margin after freight, returns and ads.
- Digital service export agency: sell internationally where possible; track billable utilisation, client concentration and receivable days.
- Sourcing/inspection office: monetise supplier discovery and quality control; professional liability and repeat clients matter.
- Coffee kiosk/small food concept: footfall, average ticket, food cost, labour and waste decide break-even; confirm food permits.
- Specialised B2B cleaning: contracts and route density matter more than equipment.
- Relocation/translation support: define which services require licensed professionals and build referral partnerships instead of giving regulated advice without authority.
- Micro export/shipping brokerage: margin per shipment, customs competence, carrier terms and credit exposure are key.
- Licensed production kitchen/B2B bakery: capacity utilisation, wholesale contracts, food safety and delivery radius drive economics.
- Small-batch textile trading: start with samples, supplier verification and pre-sold demand before building stock.
- Business content studio: recurring retainers, production capacity and client churn are the core metrics.
Protect working capital before spending on image
Separate setup cost, operating cash and emergency reserve. Do not spend the full budget on fit-out or stock. Build a 12-month monthly cash-flow model with conservative sales ramp, tax/accounting, payroll, deposits, marketplace fees and a reserve for delayed receipts.
Regulation changes the viable model
Company formation does not automatically authorise every activity. Food, health, tourism, transport, customs and some professional services have sector-specific licences or responsible-person requirements. Verify the exact activity code, municipality/sector approvals and tax treatment before signing a lease or buying equipment.
